Tattoo Aftercare

Derm Shield Method:

Derm sheild is a sterile, breathable, waterproof, germ proof 

barrier to protect your new tattoo. Derm Shield will protect your tattoo from contamination and will also protect your 

clothes and sheets from excess ink, blood, and fluids that are normal byproducts of healing a tattoo. You can shower 

normally while healing, but please abstain from swimming, hot tubs, saunas, or submerging your tattoo in bodies of 

water. 

1. Leave Derm Shield on for 3-5 days

2. When removing, run under warm water and peel away

3. Wash tattoo after removal. Gently pat dry. 

4. Apply fragrance free lotion/aftercare 2-3 times a day until healed. 

5. Do not itch, pick or scratch your new tattoo.

6. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks. 

7. Shower, do not soak. 

** If the Derm  begins to leak, peel, or come off, remove immediately. 

*** If the edges of the bandage become red or swollen, remove immediately. 

Lotion Method: 

1. Keep your dress on for 3-4 hours

2. Do not cover again

3. Wash in warm water using fragrance free soap, twice a day, pat dry

4. Apply a thin layer fragrance free lotion/aftercare 2-3 times a day

5. Shower, do not soak. 

6. avoid swimming & sunbathing until completely healed

7. A scab will form, do not scratch or pick it. Allow it to heal, which may 

take 10 days. 

** Do not use vaseline or petroleum based ointments on a fresh tattoo

*** Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight, tanning beds, or pets.
